Frequently Asked Questions

You're welcome to reach out to me at any stage of your pregnancy journey. While many families connect with me during their first or second trimester so we can build that relationship and provide complete support from the start, I understand that sometimes you discover what you need closer to your due date—and that's okay. Even if your baby is coming soon, I may still have space to support you. Please reach out to me directly, and let's talk about how I can be there for you and your growing family.
-
Throughout your pregnancy, I'm here to walk alongside you—offering education when you need clarity, emotional support when things feel heavy, and a safe, judgment-free space to process all the thoughts and feelings that come with preparing to meet your baby. Together, we'll explore your options, honor your preferences, and work through any concerns that arise. My goal is for you to step into your birth experience feeling confident, empowered, and truly ready—not overwhelmed or alone.
-
Not at all—they serve different but equally important roles. Your medical provider is focused on your clinical health and the safe delivery of your baby, which is absolutely essential. I'm here to focus on you as a whole person—your comfort, your questions, your emotional well-being, and the quality of your entire experience. I make sure you feel heard, supported, and cared for in ways that go beyond the medical aspects of birth.
-
Preparing for birth is about so much more than just waiting—it's about truly getting ready, both physically, mentally, and spiritually. Together, we'll explore comfort techniques that work for your body, practice breathing that calms and centers you, find ways to stay active and strong, and build a deep understanding of what's happening at each stage of the birth process. I'm here to guide you through practical, tangible tools and—just as importantly—to help you trust yourself and believe in your body's incredible ability to bring your baby into the world. You're more capable than you know, and I'll be there to remind you of that.
-
Together, we'll create a birth plan that truly reflects you—your values, your hopes, and what matters most to you and your family. I like to think of it as your compass, not a rigid script. It's there to ground you, guide your decisions, and help your care team understand what you need. And if things shift during labor—as they sometimes do—you won't feel lost or like you've failed. You'll have the clarity and confidence to adapt, knowing that your voice still matters and that you're still in the driver's seat of your own experience. I'll be right there with you, helping you navigate whatever comes.
-
Once active labor begins, I'm not going anywhere. I stay with you continuously—through every contraction, every transition, every moment you need me. I'll offer hands-on comfort measures, gentle guidance when you're unsure what to do next, and steady reassurance when things feel intense. And I'm there for your partner too, supporting them so they can support you without feeling lost or helpless. You won't have to face any part of this alone. I'll be your constant presence, your advocate, and your calm in the storm—from the moment labor picks up until your baby is safely in your arms.
-
I come equipped with a full toolkit of comfort techniques—positioning that eases pressure, movement that works with your body, breathing patterns that ground you, massage that melts tension, counterpressure that brings relief exactly where you need it, and emotional support that keeps you connected to your strength. But more than any single technique, my goal is to help you feel truly supported and in control of your own experience. Whether you choose unmedicated birth, an epidural, or something in between, I'm there for you—honoring your choices, adapting to your needs, and making sure you feel empowered every step of the way. There's no right or wrong path, only what's right for you.
-
Absolutely—and I mean that wholeheartedly. My role is never to push you toward any particular path or impose my own beliefs on your birth. It's to support your choices, whatever they may be. Whether you're hoping for an unmedicated birth, planning for an epidural from the start, or staying open to see how you feel in the moment—I'm there for you, fully and without judgment. I'll respect it, support it, and make sure you feel cared for no matter what direction your journey takes. What matters most is that you feel heard, supported, educated, and held through it all.
-
Always. I know how much your partner wants to be there for you—but labor can feel overwhelming when you're not sure what to do or how to help. That's where I come in. I help your partner feel confident, capable, and truly involved in this experience. I'll guide them through comfort techniques, suggest ways they can support you in each moment, and reassure them when things feel intense. My presence means they don't have to carry the weight of it all alone or second-guess themselves. Instead, they can be fully present with you, connected and empowered, knowing they're making a real difference. You'll have both of us by your side, working together to support you.
-
Yes! Even if we can't be in the same room, you don't have to go through this alone. Virtual support means I can still be there for you in meaningful ways—guiding you through prenatal education from the comfort of your home, walking through your birth plan together over video, checking in on you during those tender postpartum days when you need encouragement, and offering real-time guidance by phone, video or text when labor begins and you need reassurance or help deciding when to head to the hospital. Distance doesn't have to mean disconnection. I'm still your steady presence, your source of knowledge and calm, just a call or message away whenever you need me.
